Within certain guidelines, YOU decide how you want to license your content.
From our extensive experience licensing data, we know what data should cost. This harmonization allows licensees to normalize their experience across countless datasets and creates a seamless solution for all parties. Regardless, we allow you to adjust the pricing to ensure you are realizing fair market value from your data.
We have authored a comprehensive contractual license that your licensees must abide by, BUT we provide you with the flexibility to include additional stipulations to the use of your data for machine learning purposes.

How much does it cost?
Great question. There are 4 basic fees:
Listing Fee - there is a $100 fee per data set, capped at $1,000 per data owner
Transaction Fee - there is a 15% fee on all transactions conducted on our marketplace
Currency Conversion Fee - if there are payments made in a currency other than USD$, there is an additional 2.5% conversion fee applied to the transaction
Referral Fees - additional fees may apply for referrals back to you for traditional subscriptions and other external services you may provide
Liability & Risk for you and your Data
Whether you run a large multi-national publishing operation or are a solo researcher at a sub-station in Antartica, all data owners need to minimize their legal liability and risk AND be assured that their data is safe and secure.
From the legal liability and risk side, our lawyers will assess the structure of your operation, such as its physical or digital space, the types of products you have for license, and so on. From there, we will tailor the right risk plan, complete with permit applications, insurance policies, and more, so you can worry less about liabilities and concentrate on growing your business.
From the data safety and security side, you can rest easy. The current data security and safety protocols you currently have in place are those that are utilized. Our marketplace provides for all the mechanisms to license your content, but it is YOU that ultimately transfers the data to the Licensee via an API key, FTP transfer or other. If you don’t have a solution, our technology team can help you tailor a solution.

Our marketplace has powerful search tools to help you find the precise set of data for machine learning. The more you use our marketplace, the better your search results because our system has built-in prediction technology to suggest additional (or alternate) datasets to meet your needs.
Simple, Fast and Painless
Once you find the right data, we make it super-easy to complete your data license. In a nutshell, the process goes something like this:
Register on our site. Tell us who you are and what you are looking for
Find the right datasets -
do you need the whole set of data - i.e. the whole journal, database, book or table? …. OR
do you need just a subset of the data - i.e. just figures, a paragraph, or an image?
Decide on your license parameters -
what do you want to do with it?
who do you want to use the data - machines or humans or both?
how long do you need the license to last - a year, a month, a week, or even a day?
Complete the clickwrap license
Pay the license fee
Receive the data - either via an API key or FTP transfer
Contracts and Intellectual Property
Speaking of contract and IP, we have it all set for you.
On the contracts side, our license sets out exactly what you can and cannot do with the data you license, as you have asked for. No more back and forth hassle with data owners who do not understand how to license content or subscribe to “old” ways of viewing data licensing.
Further, we know how important intellectual property is in this ecosystem.
For the data owners, the raw data is their business. This is how they put food on the table. They own all the raw data. Period.
For you, it is your algorithms, talent and efforts that manipulates the raw data to produce derivative datasets and/or knowledge graphs. You own this output. Period.
